Top 16 of 2016~Day 1&2

I missed yesterday's post due to the business of Christmas, but I still wanted to make the list.  So I decided to combine today and yesterdays by cutting each list in half. So in total I will still have a top 16 list. I'll just have 8 and 8.

Todays two prompts are my top "Books I wish I would've read" & "Favourite Book Covers"of 2016.

Books I wish I would've read this year:

1. Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
2. Throne of Glass  by Sarah J. Maas
3. Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare
4. The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
5. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
6. This Monstrous Thing  by Mackenzie Lee
7. Heartless by Marissa Meyer
8. Blackhearts by Nicole Castroman

Favourite Book Covers of 2016

plus my two ALL time favourite were...

Title: Guardian of Secrets (Library Jumpers #2)
AuthorBrenda Drake
Genre(s): Fantasy, YA

Synopsis: Being a Sentinel isn’t all fairytales and secret gardens.
Sure, jumping through books into the world’s most beautiful libraries to protect humans from mystical creatures is awesome. No one knows that better than Gia Kearns, but she could do without the part where people are always trying to kill her. Oh, and the fact that Pop and her had to move away from her friends and life as she knew it.
And if that isn’t enough, her boyfriend, Arik, is acting strangely. Like, maybe she should be calling him “ex,” since he’s so into another girl. But she doesn’t have time to be mad or even jealous, because someone has to save the world from the upcoming apocalypse, and it looks like that’s going to be Gia.

Title: The Alchemists of Loom (Loom Saga #1)

Author: Elise Kova
Publisher: Keymaster Press
Release date: January 10th 2017
Genre(s): Adult (YA Crossover), High-Fantasy, Steampunk

SynopsisHer vengeance. His vision.

Ari lost everything she once loved when the Five Guilds’ resistance fell to the Dragon King. Now, she uses her unparalleled gift for clockwork machinery in tandem with notoriously unscrupulous morals to contribute to a thriving underground organ market. There isn’t a place on Loom that is secure from the engineer turned thief, and her magical talents are sold to the highest bidder as long as the job defies their Dragon oppressors.

Cvareh would do anything to see his sister usurp the Dragon King and sit on the throne. His family’s house has endured the shame of being the lowest rung in the Dragons’ society for far too long. The Alchemist Guild, down on Loom, may just hold the key to putting his kin in power, if Cvareh can get to them before the Dragon King’s assassins.

When Ari stumbles upon a wounded Cvareh, she sees an opportunity to slaughter an enemy and make a profit off his corpse. But the Dragon sees an opportunity to navigate Loom with the best person to get him where he wants to go.

He offers her the one thing Ari can’t refuse: A wish of her greatest desire, if she brings him to the Alchemists of Loom.

You've got some reading to do, girl. Haha, oh well. There are a number of books I haven't read yet either. Don't feel bad. But really, get on Throne of Glass already!
