~Review~

When I first saw this book over on twitter, I knew that it was going to be a book I would be highly anticipating. When I was lucky enough to receive a review copy before the release date, I was so ecstatic. Not only does this book have a beautiful cover, but what was in-between the pages was even more amazing. Overall I would give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

The story throughout the whole novel was nicely paced. There wasn't one area that I had felt should've been changed and or modified to better suit what was happening. I think the thing that the author did a brilliant job on was the actually storytelling taking place. The idea that this girl lived in a secluded city with border, but all she wanted to do was explore and make maps. Then when finally chanced with this opportunity, things definitely don't go the way they planned. Myths and stories become the truth, and the truth become the lies.  I also liked the suspense and sacrifice we as readers endured. From start to finish we saw countless plot twists and developments that were definitely and added bonus to the story itself.

Another thing I really enjoyed were the characters. Each, in my eyes held a  different connection to the story. I would have to say that my favourite character would have to be Lupe. We saw many different sides to her as the story progressed and it was nice. Not only did her character stand out to me, but I also felt a connection with this character. Lupe was easy to connect with for some aspects, but for other aspects it was a bit harder to grasp. Brilliant characters were shown, and it was all very nicely portrayed.

All in all, I had minor to no complaints about this particular book. I was content and satisfied with the way it ended and even just a little bit surprised in a way. However nonetheless that did not change the fact that this book is a 4 out of 5 star rating, and anyone who enjoys a good adventure book. If you do pick up this book I hope you enjoy the read and everything it stood for.
